- HOW TO BOOK A RESERVATION
Call us to check availability of the yacht you prefer. If you are planning to Bareboat Charter we will ask you to complete a Charter Application and provide us with names and phone numbers of charter companies or other sailing professionals who can confirm your experience. To make a reservation we will need a 50% deposit and the completed charter application. We will then reserve the boat and send you a charter agreement for your signature. The balance of your charter fee is due 30 days prior to the charter date. Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to charter are subject to forfeiture of the charter deposit (50% of the total charter fee). Cancellations received 30 days or less prior to charter are subject to forfeiture of the charter deposit and all other monies paid. However, if BaySail is able to arrange an equivalent charter for the same period, we will refund all monies paid less a $75 cancellation fee.Call 410-939-2869 to Book
- BAREBOAT COMPETENCY
If you are planning to Bareboat Charter, we will ask that you complete a Charter Application and provide us with names and phone numbers of people who can confirm your experience. If your skills are a little rusty, a captain may be required until we both feel confident in your ability to safely handle the yacht and navigate in local waters.
- SECURITY DEPOSITS
A FULLY-REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT (payable in the form of cash, certified check, money order, bank check or traveler’s check) equal to one percent of the yacht’s value (minimum of $1,200 for charter yachts and $500 for daysailers) is required prior to boarding. Security deposits will be refunded less the repair or replacement cost of lost or damaged items.
- UPON ARRIVAL
Charters start at 9 AM on the first day and end at 4 PM on the last day. Charters may start any day of the week but we prefer not to split up a weekend. Free parking is available within a few feet of your yacht’s slip in the Tidewater Marina. BaySail conducts a thorough one-hour orientation of the yacht for the skipper and first mate. (Please note that we do not allow single handling on any of our boats). The time of the orientation should be scheduled in advance, keeping in mind that we need at least one hour of daylight. Provisioning is done by the charterer. There are two large grocery stores, a liquor store, a gourmet coffee shop, and a bakery within 5 minutes of the marina.
- DURING YOUR CHARTER
A BaySail staff member is on call 24 hours a day should you have a question or need assistance during your charter.
- UPON RETURN
You will need to return your yacht by 4 PM on the last day of the charter. You do not need to clean the boat – just tidy up and stow equipment. You will need to refuel and pump out the holding tank but BaySail staff will be available to assist you with this.
Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to charter are subject to forfeiture of the charter deposit. Cancellations received 30 days or less prior to charter are subject to forfeiture of the charter deposit and all other monies paid. However, if BaySail is able to arrange an equivalent charter for the same period, we will refund all monies paid less a $75 cancellation fee. You may want to consider purchasing trip insurance which is available at a nominal cost through your travel agent or an insurance carrier such as CSA (800) 348-9505 or Travelprotect (800) 694-5921.
